Bernie Kosar

Bernie Kosar has spent over 10 years in constant pain, the effects of more than a dozen documented concussion suffered in 13 years as a NFL quarterback.
There are shots he recalls. There were many, many others with Browns shook ammonia, hidden in the front of his pants, the day of the match.
But the call ringing in the ears and does not decrease. Kosar could not sleep. This paste his words. His life, interested financial problems and a bad marriage, it is almost unusable. He was desperate, masking their pain with drugs and try to pretend it was not as bad as it looked.

Desperately need help after clicking on a large number of medical resources with limited success, Kosar found Dr. Rick Sponaugle, "pioneer" in the treatment of brain that controls Wellness Institute in Palm Harbor, Florida, supports Kosar Sponaugle through labor "innovative" that his symptoms improved, healing the brain, and feels better than it has in a year.
"It was a gift from God and a desire to find," Kosar said Thursday, revealing to the public for the first time in his misfortune. "I see all the symptoms disappear."
Kosar is to spread the word of its improvement and goal is to get help for former teammates and other former NFL players deal with the onset of dementia, depression and other symptoms by the game inherently violent sport simply to reconcile with the physical burden gathered by the thousands.
Kosar contacted NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and said Sponaugle, whose series of procedures to improve blood circulation in the brain include intravenous treatment with supplements.
"I'm very worried," said Sponaugle, who spoke with Dr. Elliot Pellman, championship medical advice. "Why should not they be?"
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed the discussion took place.
Kosar said at a press conference in Cleveland, Ohio, after the first meeting of the Sponaugle, he was "a little" skeptical "in vain. However, after five days of treatment, 49 could already feel the difference .
"I feel 20 years younger," said Kosar, who lost nearly 40 pounds and his playing weight.
Kosar held 15 meetings with Sponaugle, who spend PET (positron emission tomography) scan to assess the damage suffered by the defender of the brain. Sponaugle said that most of the damage occurred in Kosar in the frontal lobe of the brain, affecting his emotions and speech.
Kosar Sponaugle injuries on the football field, someone involved in the front, the car collision.
"Bernie, in fact, put his head through the windshield every Sunday," he said.
While Kosar received treatment in the past month, has made its appearance on the radio show about Cleveland sports, where he became emotional and paste his words. Kosar seemed drunk, and some fans Browns took medication was drunk or greater.
Kosar said that "it was not exactly aware" of how the face came. Sponaugle, however, was not surprised by it after considering several brain scans Kosar, trembled in recent years has hit the defenders and the back of his helmet bounced off the turf in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Houston is described as strong as "sidewalk."
"Once you get a reduction of blood flow," Sponaugle said: "Are you in trouble because I knew he was sentimental, I saw all kinds of people ..."
Sponaugle has not provided many details about his treatment, he says, you can reverse the effects of brain damage. A treated more than 8,000 patients, including those with Alzheimer's, veterans and other NFL players, including offensive lineman who came to his aid, he was able to remember the play calling between listening to a conspiracy and step to the line of scrimmage.
Kosar has no regrets for the game. Do not disturb the treatment received by a player or with the League, which has been active in recent years about the safety of players at the same time, the process of struggle retired pay pro look.
Kosar played when in the head with the helmet has been proposed.
"Head-to-head contact, the coach," he said. "That's how he learned to hit a defender."
Kosar has made it clear he has no other purpose than to help others to recover. His revelation came the same day, the researchers at the National Institutes of Health said yesterday that Junior Seau was a degenerative disease of the brain often associated with repeated blows to the head. Bucket ended his life last year by shooting himself in the chest.
Kosar was a friend of Bucket and former Chicago Bears defensive back Dave Duerson, who also committed suicide.
"I see my friends, and I think many of them lose hope," he said. "There are hundreds, if not thousands, of children facing the pain and everything else. I tried really hard to find. I do not think many people know that there is hope for them. I hope that if there are people there they suffer and players have the ability and can really help you feel better in a short period of time.
"You do not have to live the rest of his life in pain and agony."
