Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said that homicide detectives were called to George Bush Intercontinental Airport early Wednesday morning to investigate the scene. An autopsy will be performed but detectives say that there was no signs of trauma on the body.

American Airlines Flight 962 left Sao Paolo Brazil a little after midnight on Wednesday morning and was headed for Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. A medical emergency was reported at around 6:30 and the plane made an emergency landing at the Houston airport.

The woman who died on the plane could have had a heart attack or could have had an adverse reaction to medication. The body acts differently when up in the air versus on the ground and there are a slew of things that could have happened to this woman. While she was very young and things like this aren't overly common (when compared to how many flights depart each day), there is a chance that this woman died of natural causes.
A spokesman for American said the Boeing 777 with 220 passengers resumed its flight after about a three hour delay.
