Dr Abdul Kalam Avul Pakir Jainulabhudin, twelfth President of India is rightly called the father of missile technology in India. E 'born to parents Jainulabdeen Ashiamma Marakayar and October 15, 1931 at Dhanushkodi in Rameshwaram district, Tamil Nadu. He completed his secondary education at the Schwartz High School, Ramanathapuram, BA College of St. Joseph (1950), Tiruchi and dmit in aeronautical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Madras, during 1954-1957. From an aeronautical engineer, Kalam joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore as an intern and then joined as a technical assistant in the management of technical development and production of the Department of Defense.
In Kalam, in 1960, joined the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre at Thumba in Kerala. He played an important role in the development of the center of a major space research center of India, in the national development of the country's first satellite launcher. In 1963-1982, he was the ISRO in various capacities. In 1982, he returned to the DRDO as director, and he conceived the Integrated Guided Missile Development (IGMDP) for five indigenous missiles. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has established the Research Center for Advanced Technology, called "Research Center emirate" to start creating the future missile technology. Has also been Chief Scientific Adviser to the Minister of Defence and the Indian government. Following leaving the message of Dr. Kalam joined Annamalai University before becoming president in January 2002.

Dr. Kalam, a bachelor's degree is a connoisseur of classical Carnatic music. Sounds about wine in his spare time. He writes poetry in Tamil, his mother tongue. Seventeen of his poems have been translated into English and published in 1994 a book entitled "My Journey". We have read the Koran and the Bhagavad-Gita with equal devotion. He is also the author of the book "India 2020: A Vision for the New Millennium" (1998 with YS Rajan), "Wings of Fire: The Autobiography" and minds "of â €" unleash the power of India .
